The Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (GNPLC) is a Government of Ontario initiative funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. The clinic offers all the services expected from a family practice. A Nurse Practitioner (NP) will be your primary health care provider.

A Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse with advanced university education who provides personalized, quality health care to clients. The Nurse Practitioner provides care to clients of all ages with a focus on preventing disease, promoting good health and curing illness. Your Nurse Practitioner offers a variety of health care services including the ability to:

  • Diagnose and treat illness and injuries
  • Perform physical examinations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Write prescriptions
  • Provide counseling and education
  • Provide supportive care through illness
  • Provide treatments and procedures and
  • Make referrals to specialists and other health care professionals
  • Nurse Practitioners do not prescribe narcotics or other controlled medications
